Fall is here and October is upon us.  It has been a busy September with activities and classes as well as preparing and scheduling events for the fall and winter.  The floors in the studios and on the courts have been refinished and are ready for the activities and events that are filling our calendars.  There is a public Wi-Fi hotspot in the lobby as well as a digital display to let you know what court your team/group is on as well as upcoming events and activities at the HUB Sports Center.  Please read below for more information and check out our website:

October 1-2 – Lilac City Badminton Tournament

October 1-2 – Slamma Jamma Pickleball Tournament

October 15 – Self Defense America (see below for details)

October 22 – Evergreen/PIVA Collegiate Club Volleyball Tournament

October 30 – NBC Camps Volleyball Clinic

October 31 – Harlem Ambassadors Charity Basketball Game

November 5-6 – AAU Boo-Ball Basketball Tournament

Special Events

SELF DEFENSE AMERICA – Come learn easy and effective striking and evasion techniques that could potential save your life.  No prior experience required.  Sign up for a 4 hour class of self defense training by Micheal F. Foley and the Hand to Hand Combat Training Center team.  October 15th from either 8:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm for ages 18 and up.  More information, rates and registration available at:


CHURCH BASKETBALL LEAGUE – Grab some friends and join us for some fellowship playing basketball with other church teams.  Games will be Wednesday nights between 6:30-9:30pm beginning October 26th and ending November 30th.  Contact us if you are interested in signing up a team.  Only 12 spots available.


HARLEM AMBASSADORS BASKETBALL – The Harlem Ambassadors offer a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high=flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines.  Bring your family and friends on October 31st at 7pm.  Proceeds benefit the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates to help raise funds for improving crime victim rights and services.  More information and tickets available at:


CONCERT – Jeremy Camp & Francesca Battistelli are in concert on Tuesday, November 8th at 7pm.  Come see these great artists in the We Cry Out Tour.  Sign up now for tickets.


5 v 5 FUTSAL TURKEYSHOOT TOURNAMENT – Get ready to showcase your soccer skills and compete for the TurkeyTrophy.  This tournament will be November 26-27 for boys and girls in age groups U10, U11, U12 and U13/14.  There is a $275 entry fee for a guaranteed 4 games and referee fees are included.  Only 4-6 teams per division so sign up early.  Registration Forms available at
