Good afternoon,
I hope you are all healthy and well. We miss seeing everyone at the HUB Sports Center. Here is an update on where we are at with the Phased Reopening Plan.
This morning the Washington Governor announced that Spokane County was granted a variance and can move to Phase 2. There are provisions in Phase 2 for fitness classes and training, that have no more than 5 people attending, to resume. The HUB Sports Center is exploring what the guidelines are for these types of programs and will be in communication with our martial arts and fitness instructors. We will also check on the basketball and volleyball training options as well. (Link to Phase 2 guidelines)
These new guidelines give us a road map to what we need to prepare for reopening. We are building our policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our staff and the public that visit the facility to the best of our ability. Hopefully we can restart some classes this month and prepare for next phase opening sometime in mid-June with Phase 3.
We have been in touch with our partner organizations (YMCA, AAU, Evergreen Region Volleyball, etc) about reopening and programming. We have also reached out to other local and national youth sport organizations to collaborate on best practices and share ideas about how we can reopen safely. We will have some new policies and procedures for renting and user groups based on these findings and guidelines from our state and county. We ask for your patience and compliance with these requests and we navigate the new realities that we will be in for at least the next few months.
We are optimistic to begin to host a couple small events at the end of June and our summer camps, tournaments and other events in July and August. These are all tentative as we await the word on our opportunity to do so based on the health of our region.
Thank you for your support through these months. Your words of encouragement and financial gifts have been greatly appreciated.
Please reach out to our staff if you have any questions. Thank you.
