Fundamental Focus Basketball Camp @ HUB Sports Center

Join Fundamental Focus Basketball Camps for an unforgettable experience filled with skill development, teamwork, and fun! Expert coaches will provide top-notch training tailored to each player’s needs, helping them improve their fundamentals and enhance their performance on the court.

At Fundamental Focus Basketball Camp, players will not only refine their basketball skills but also build confidence, sportsmanship, and lasting friendships. Our focus goes beyond the game – we aim to instill values that will benefit players both on and off the court. With a positive and encouraging environment, participants will be motivated to push themselves, grow as athletes, and have a blast doing it!

For Boys and Girls, Kindergarten-5th Grade

When: July 8-12, 2024
Grades K-2: 9am-12pm
Grades 3-5: 1pm-4pm

Cost: $150 per camper (only $100 until May 15th!)

Meet Coach Marsell Colbert

A native of Annapolis, Maryland, Coach Colbert played high school basketball at Annapolis High and came to the Northwest in 1989 to attend North Idaho College and play for the NIC Cardinals for the 1989-90 season.

Mr. Colbert’s coaching career begin in 1991 at the Coeur d’ Alene Parks & Recreation youth basketball and the Post Falls Parks and Recreation basketball leagues.

In 2002, Coach Colbert founded the AAU team called the River City Hoyas which produced 7 collegiate players. In addition, he accepted the Junior Varsity coaching position at Post Falls Christian Academy and named the Varsity coach later that season.

Mr. Colbert is a big proponent of fundamental development through camps in which he served as an instructor at the following camps: Oregon State University, University of Washington, North Idaho College, University of Montana, Portland Trailblazers youth summer basketball camp, and the Advantage basketball camps.

He was the Head Boys basketball coach at Genesis Prep Academy, where they won back to back Idaho state championships in 2017-18.

Mr. Colbert is currently the K-8 P. E. teacher and Athletic Director at the Coeur d’ Alene Tribal School.

Meet Coach Rod Mitchell

Rod played High School at Mariner H.S Everett, WA, and then continued playing College at Saint Martins College in Lacey, WA. He has coached at Kamiak H.S in Mukilteo, WA, at Mariner H.S in Everett, WA, and is currently Coaching Boys at Alderwood Middle School in Edmonds,WA and Girls at Northshore Christian Academy. Rod has worked NBA Sonics/WNBA Strom basketball camp, and has conducted basketball camps for Advantage basketball around the Pacific Northwest. He has also worked College camps at the University of Washington, Oregon State University, and the University of Montana
