March 24, 2020 – 9:45am
Hello,
In place of our newsletter for April events, I am sharing some urgent news with you.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we have temporarily shut down the HUB Sports Center in order to encourage social distancing and limit gatherings of people. This has resulted in a loss of revenue from cancelations of events and activities. This closure also jeopardizes our ability to provide outreach programs for our community when we reopen in the future.
A $50.00 donation will help us have the financial resources necessary to serve our youth and community when this pandemic is over and we can resume our activities. Click Here to Donate Online.
We provide and host events for over 170,000 youth and families throughout the year. March/April has averaged 40,782 people and generated an average of $79,709 in gross revenue from rentals and activities. These funds go toward our operations and outreach programs. Without these funds, it will be challenging to offer the outreach programs to our youth and community.
Your donation allows us to maintain our ability to provide these types of programs. Our staff is planning future events and we are in contact with our renting organizations to be ready to resume operations once this pandemic is over.
Obviously, this interruption in business was not in our budget. We have been good stewards of our resources and have a “rainy day” fund that will help sustain us for a few months without any revenue.
Your generous $50.00 donation will go a long way towards helping us be prepared to come out of this interruption and ready to serve our youth and community with valuable programs and events.
Thank you.
Phil Champlin
Executive Director
