REGISTRATION

All registration is done online, through SportWrench.  This is new for 2023!  If you do not already have a club account on SportWrench, please do so ASAP and create your teams so you’re ready to go for Saturday.

Registration opens October 1st @ 8 am PST.

Prior to the tournament, your complete roster MUST be verified by USAV through their registration/database system.

All adults on the roster must have CURRENT background checks, and be SafeSport certified. Deadlines for rosters will be posted as the tournament approaches, and emails will be sent to the address entered in the SportWrench account for the team with important information and reminders.

TEAM ENTRY INFORMATION

Registration will open at 8am PST on October 1, 2022.

Team entry fees are $900 for all teams, except 11 National (if there are enough teams entered to warrant a division).  This division is $600 per team.

No refunds will be given after January 1, 2023 unless the tournament is forced to change dates/cancel due to COVID-19 restrictions or guidelines. Once a team has paid and submitted hotel information, acceptance will be noted in SportWrench if space is available. If space is not available, teams will be notified via email of an alternate opening, or will be placed on a waitlist.

IMPACT CERTIFICATION

All coaches must be IMPACT certified in order to participate in a National Qualifier. There will be no IMPACT clinic available, so please take care of this prior to arrival.

REFEREE/SCOREKEEPER CERTIFICATION

All teams must provide a certified scorekeeper, R2 (rostered adult), and two linespersons for each match that they officiate.

During a team’s officiating duties, an adult listed on their roster must be AT THE SCORE TABLE during the entire match.

FORMAT

This tournament is one of USA Volleyball’s national qualifying tournaments and is governed by the rules set forth by them. It is a mandated 3-day tournament.

In the USA. Liberty, National & American divisions, the first two days are pool play, with the third being single-elimination bracket play. (Depending on the size of the field, some adaptations may be made to accommodate odd numbers.) In the Open divisions, challenge matches may follow pool play on the first two days, and some brackets may participate in pool play on the final day. *Typically AM Wave begins at 8 am, PM at 3:00 pm.

Bids to the GJNC are awarded in every division at the PNQ, so foreign teams are not allowed to participate.

All Open bids are determined by the number of teams in the division. The Qualifier Manual has this information.

Please refer to the Girls National Championship Manual for more information on number of bids, priority of bid use, trickle down process, etc. **TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES

Since it cannot be determined where a team will finish, teams should not plan to travel until the evening on the third day of play. No match is scheduled later than 3 pm on the final day. **It is recommended that airline tickets be scheduled no earlier than 5:30 pm.

*No roster changes may be made once a team has commenced play.*

Bids to the GJNC are awarded in every division at the PNQ, so foreign teams are not allowed to participate.

Sat
Breakthrough Basketball Shooting & Offensive Skills Camp
Apr 27 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

This specialized 2-day camp will give you the drills and instruction you need to become a top-flight shooter who stands out from the competition.

Go into season ready to increase your shooting percentage and range with better mechanics and more confidence in your shot.

These are the secrets perfected by the world’s greatest shooters, and now they’re yours as part of the 2-day intensive Shooting & Offensive Skills Camp.

What will players get out of the camp?

    • Shooting fundamentals that will quickly boost your FG and FT % (stance, release point, hand position and follow through)
  • Common mistakes that limit players’ shooting ability (and quick fixes for each)
  • How to develop a quicker release to get better looks and avoid getting blocked
  • The “Steve Nash Adjustment” that extends your shooting range while staying accurate
  • Proper body positioning for maximum shooting accuracy
  • Techniques for creating space so you get more clean looks at the basket
  • Pro-level secrets for shooting off the dribble
  • Catch-and-shoot fundamentals for varying game situations
  • The “shooters mentality” that will immediately give you a psychological edge in every situation

We use a “Progressions”-based approach to ensure all players establish a strong foundation before moving into more complex drills.

This allows each player to move forward at the appropriate speed for their age and skill level.

Shooting Topics Covered In Camp

Foundation of Shooting

This is the first step in becoming a great shooter. Some players will progress through this stage quickly, while others will need to spend a bit more time to correct some bad habits. You will also learn:

    • How your stance could actually be causing your shot to go left and right and how to fix it
  • Why the parallel stance may not be the right fit for you
  • How your legs and not just your follow through can actually cause a flat shot
  • The proper release point and follow through
  • How inflexibility in your legs can affect your shot in a negative way
  • Learn the Steve Nash adjustment that allows players to shoot accurately from further distances

Shooting Off of the Catch Like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant

After we have built a great shooting foundation, we will progress to shooting off of the catch. You will learn:

    • How to make your shot quicker
  • The mentality to making your shot quicker
  • The proper body position for every shot off of the catch
  • The proper footwork for different situations during the game
  • The proper hand position to create consistency and accuracy
  • How to pull up out of the fast break

Shooting Off of the Dribble Like Russell Westbrook & Kyrie Irving

As the levels go up, it’s very important to add a pull up jump shot off of the dribble. This gives you the ability to score as defenders rush out to defend the initial shot. You will learn:

    • The often ignored, but important progressions for the shot off of the dribble learned from legendary Hal Wissel who coached in the NBA
  • Learn how to properly pick up the basketball and how doing it the wrong way could be causing your shot to miss to the left and the right
  • Learn how the pace of the dribble can make your shot quicker
  • Learn how to properly execute the sweep and step through to create space from your defender
  • Learn the mentality needed to have a successful pull up jump shot and how the wrong mentality can be easily defended

Learn Advanced Shooting Techniques Used by the Pros

You will learn the keys to a quick release used by the pros such as Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry. You will learn the Michael Jordan 1-2 step used to create space and hit the open jumper.

You will learn the details required to be successful with these advanced moves. If you’re not ready for the advanced moves yet, we have a system setup that will progress players at the proper rates.

Here’s What Attendees Have To Say:

“Watching my son’s confidence increase as he began shooting from pre-camp to post-camp was amazing to watch. He learned great skills to practice before moving into JV ball”

– Mark P., Lansing, MI

“Thank you for sparking the fire in my kids to not only be great players, but also great individuals and team players. Coach was amazing and we appreciate you finding coaches like him. I’ve never seen my son smile so much while doing basketball”

– Carrie H., San Angelo, TX

“My daughter was really nervous about this camp because she wasn’t sure if…she’d be as good as everyone else. She came home so tired every day but was so excited about what she learned. She’s excited to keep practicing. Thank you for an awesome experience.”

– Kim B., Knoxville, TN

“Amazing camp! Love the positivity and the drills were great. Coach gave them great talks about being good people, too! We will be back!”

– Kerri D., Lenexa, KS

Spots Are Limited

We’re committed to giving you the most personal attention, reps and opportunity for improvement during this camp.

For that reason, spots are very limited.

If you’re ready to take your offensive game to the next level, we encourage you to reserve your spot while they’re still available.

After You Register

Once you enter your initial registration information at the bottom of the page, you’ll be taken to the payment page to complete the sign up process.

Your spot will be immediately reserved once payment is made.

Then check your email in 10-15 minutes for a Welcome Message with all the information you need to set your child up for success at camp.

What’s Your “Why”?

Every player has their own unique motivations and goals for attending a Breakthrough camp, including:

    • Getting more playing time
  • Stepping into shots with confidence
  • Making the “A” team
  • Increasing your scoring average
  • Higher FG and FT %
  • Making teams pay for leaving you open
  • Loving the game more than ever as you see yourself succeed.

What are YOUR biggest motivations?

When you come to camp focused on what you want to achieve, you put yourself in the best position to succeed.

No matter what your goals are, the Shooting and Offensive Skills Camp can help you achieve them.

PGC Basketball Playmaker College
Jun 24 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
PGC Basketball Playmaker College @ HUB Sports Center

Do You Want to Truly Help Your Child in Basketball?

None of us want our kids to get cut, sit on the bench, or fall short of their potential.

That’s painful to watch and it breaks our heart as parents.

That’s why we created the Playmaker College camp, so your child will finally get the roadmap, teachings, inspiration, and tools to make teams, get minutes, & stand out on the floor.

This camp is open to boys and girls entering 7th – 11th grade and is the ideal starting place for any player new to PGC, including advanced players.

The majority of our day camps are limited to no more than 80 players to maximize each player’s learning experience.

Typical camps are 2-3 times this size, but we don’t take any more players than our camp director can know by name.

Our camps fill up and we turn away lots of players each summer, so don’t wait to sign up.

The camp runs from 9:00am-4:00pm and check-in on the first day is from 8:25am-8:50am.

Each day includes interactive classroom and video sessions, as well as action-packed gym sessions.

The final day of camp ends at 2:00pm and parents are invited to come at 1:30pm for the closing wrap-up.

Note: There is a 30-minute lunch break for players to eat a bag lunch or for parents to drop off lunch.

At PGC, the safety and well-being of each player is our top priority. For the entire day, all the players and staff are together on the court, in class, and in the eating area.

At many camps, the Director is a celebrity athlete or coach who lends his or her name to the program — but little else.

At PGC camps, the Director personally leads every session and takes the time to know every player by name.

Our team of Instructors will be there to inspire and support your child through every session. Our Instructors are typically PGC grads who have played college basketball and coach high school or college basketball.

“I have worked with some great teachers of the game, however, this week at PGC, I observed the best teacher I’ve ever seen. The sessions were powerful, purposeful, and efficient. Not a session went by where I wasn’t thrilled with the content and delivery. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with PGC.”
— Coach Dave Jankowski, La Palma, California

Join over 7,500 coaches who have attended PGC course. Coaches consistently tell us the time they spent at PGC is the most beneficial investment they’ve made in their coaching career.

At your PGC camp, you’ll attend all classroom, video and court sessions – just like players. You’ll also benefit from daily interactions with the director and other like-minded coaches through in-session huddles.
