Students will learn and perform the basics, forms, and self-defense techniques required for yellow belt.

Boys & Girls Ages 8-12 years old.

At the end of the class, students should be able to perform 10 self-defense techniques, one short kata and execute basic blocks, punches and kicks.

Our children’s Taekwondo program is geared towards the development of discipline and self-esteem. As they progress we will focus on leadership qualities and skills as well. Our unique program strives to teach children skills that prepare them for life, as well as self-defense techniques enabling the child to defend him/herself when the need arises.

Classes tuition: $45/month (once per week) or $80/month (twice per week)
$5 late fee applies after the 15th of each month.
Tuition is month to month, no prorated rates or refunds.
Two week notice is required if withdrawing from the class.

Mr. Himebaugh has more that 28 years of experience in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Judo, & Kenpo Karate.

He is a 3rd Degree Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt in Taekwondo.

Mr. Himebaugh has been instructing Taekwondo for 20 years. He has taught hundreds of students and lead more than 10 students to achieve the level of 1st Dan Black Belt and beyond.

He brings with him an enthusiasm to teach and continue to mentor youth and adults in the art of Taekwondo.

Fit for YOUR Life Functional Fitness. Personalized small group strength classes taught by doctor of physical therapy Paula Stiles DPT, OCS, Pn1.  Come improve your overall strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility in a safe supervised environment.  Your goals determine the workouts!  We will utilize weights, balance boards, body weight exercises and more.  Bring a water bottle, towel, and a mat if you have one.

Classes are 60 minutes with a warm up, strength, balance and conditioning exercises 35-45 minutes.  Then cool down and flexibility work at the end.

Classes meet in the studio upstairs at the HUB Sports Center.

Tuesdays: 9:30-10:30am
Thursdays: 8:30-9:30am

Paula Stiles  DPT, OCS, Pn1

I  have 17 years’ experience as an outpatient physical therapist with an Orthopedic Specialist Certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. I originally graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy but have since earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I enjoy working with anyone that has a goal. The goal may be to have less pain with daily activities, learn to have a healthy relationship with food or it may be to run a marathon, if you want to do it. I want to help! I have worked with all ages and performance levels including professional triathletes, professional baseball and football players, along with many college athletes.  Some of my most rewarding clients have been the beginning runner and the baby boomer who wants to keep active for their retirement.

Come and learn the game of Pickleball! Our expert instructors will teach you the basic skills and rules of this exciting game!

Clinics take place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. All days run 10:00am-12:00pm.

Our primary objective in teaching the clinic is provide an enjoyable experience such that players want to come back to play. When done with the clinic players will be able to have a fun experience with players of a similar level.

Following is a description of what we teach in the beginning clinic:

  • How to setup a pickleball net.
  • How to join an existing game.
  • The different lines/areas of the pickleball court.
  • A short description of the Non-Volley Zone (the kitchen).
  • How to determine if a ball is In or Out of an area of the court.
  • Basic rules of the game including the two-bounce rule.
  • Practice hitting a forehand, backhand, and serve.
  • Proper court etiquette.
    • Line calls
    • Foot faults
    • Non-volley Zone calls
    • Interruptions of play (ball or person on the court)
    • Calling the score prior to serving
  • Players play a modified game evolving into a standard game (special serving rules until they can serve well enough to play a game) during the clinic.

When players finish the 2 hour clinic they will meet the USAPA 2.5 Skill Rating definition:

This player has a minimal understand of rules of the game and limited experience.

Can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability.

Basic ability to keep score.

 

Registration is just $12/person. .MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED TO ATTEND.

All participants will have the option to stay for our drop-in play from 1:00-3:00pm after the clinic for free.

Overview & Structure

Power League is a series of 4 tournaments hosted by the Evergreen Region for the U14 and U16 age divisions. The first tournament, held in January will be a seeding/qualification tournament, followed by three more tournaments occurring monthly from January – March. The up or down movement of a team in each tournament will determine their final finish in Power League.

 

TEAM SIGN-UP AND ACCEPTANCE INTO ERVA POWER LEAGUE

All teams will participate in the ERVA Power League Qualifier in January. Teams who do NOT finish in the top 16 will play in the designated alternate tournaments. ERVA has the approval of the designated tournament directors to hold spots in their tournaments for the non-qualifying teams.

Format

In Power League Tournaments, each division will consist of 8 teams. Within each division, teams are snake seeded into 2 pools of 4 teams. Competition includes 4 team pool play followed by single elimination bracket play.

1st and 2nd seeds from each pool will playoff in a 4 team playoff after pool play. 3rd and 4th place seeds from each pool will playoff in a 4 team playoff after pool play.

Teams finishing 1st in the 1st/2nd seed playoff will advance to the next higher division for the next power league date. Example: team finishing 1st in the silver pool 1st/2nd playoffs will move into GOLD division at next power league.

Teams finishing last in the 3rd/4the seed playoff will drop down a division for the next power league date. Example: team finishing last in the Gold pool 3rd/4th playoffs will move down into the Silver division at next power league.

Seeding & Rankings

The first tournament in January will be a seeding tournament. The initial tournament seeding will be determined by the ERVA Seeding Committee. The Committee will use the previous season’s Regional Championship results, 2019 Power League Rankings, ERVA Rankings, and contact clubs directly regarding their teams. After the first tournament, the seeding for each Power League tournament will be based on the previous tournament’s results.

ERVA Power League will have its own P.L. ranking to determine seeding for the 3 remaining tournaments, along with determining a Power League Champion.

Boys & Girls Ages 8-12 years old.

At the end of the class, students should be able to perform 10 self-defense techniques, one short kata and execute basic blocks, punches and kicks.

Our children’s Taekwondo program is geared towards the development of discipline and self-esteem. As they progress we will focus on leadership qualities and skills as well. Our unique program strives to teach children skills that prepare them for life, as well as self-defense techniques enabling the child to defend him/herself when the need arises.

Classes tuition: $45/month (once per week) or $80/month (twice per week)
$5 late fee applies after the 15th of each month.
Tuition is month to month, no prorated rates or refunds.
Two week notice is required if withdrawing from the class.

*Uniforms (dobak) are not included in tuition costs.

Classes meet:

MONDAY

5:45 – 6:30pm: 8+ White/beginner

TUESDAY

5:00 – 5:30pm: 4-7 year old beginner – Mighty Mites

5:45 – 6:30pm: 8+ orange, beginner+

6:30 – 7:15pm: green, blue, purple, red & black belts

THURSDAY

5:00 – 5:30pm: 4-7 year old beginner – Mighty Mites

5:45 – 6:30pm: 8+ orange, beginner+

6:45 – 7:45pm: Adults & advanced – blue, purple, red & black belts

(First & Third) Wednesday

5-6pm Sparring class – yellow belt+

 

Mr. Himebaugh has more that 28 years of experience in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Judo, & Kenpo Karate.

He is a 3rd Degree Kukkiwon Certified Black Belt in Taekwondo.

Mr. Himebaugh has been instructing Taekwondo for 20 years. He has taught hundreds of students and lead more than 10 students to achieve the level of 1st Dan Black Belt and beyond.

He brings with him an enthusiasm to teach and continue to mentor youth and adults in the art of Taekwondo.

Kenpo Karate – Adults
