Fit for YOUR Life Functional Fitness. Personalized small group strength classes taught by doctor of physical therapy Paula Stiles DPT, OCS, Pn1.  Come improve your overall strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility in a safe supervised environment.  Your goals determine the workouts!  We will utilize weights, balance boards, body weight exercises and more.  Bring a water bottle, towel, and a mat if you have one.

Classes are 60 minutes with a warm up, strength, balance and conditioning exercises 35-45 minutes.  Then cool down and flexibility work at the end.

Classes meet in the studio upstairs at the HUB Sports Center.

Tuesdays: 9:30-10:30am
Thursdays: 8:30-9:30am

About the instructor:

Paula Stiles  DPT, OCS, Pn1

I  have 17 years’ experience as an outpatient physical therapist with an Orthopedic Specialist Certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. I originally graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy but have since earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I enjoy working with anyone that has a goal. The goal may be to have less pain with daily activities, learn to have a healthy relationship with food or it may be to run a marathon, if you want to do it. I want to help! I have worked with all ages and performance levels including professional triathletes, professional baseball and football players, along with many college athletes.  Some of my most rewarding clients have been the beginning runner and the baby boomer who wants to keep active for their retirement.

Our children’s Taekwondo program is geared towards the development of discipline and self-esteem. As they progress we will focus on leadership qualities and skills as well. Our unique program strives to teach children skills that prepare them for life, as well as self-defense techniques enabling the child to defend him/herself when the need arises.

Classes tuition: $45/month (once per week) or $80/month (twice per week)
$5 late fee applies after the 15th of each month.
Tuition is month to month, no prorated rates or refunds.

Mr. Himebaugh has been instructing Taekwondo for 15 years. He has taught hundreds of students and lead more than 10 students to achieve the level of 1st Dan Black Belt and beyond.

He brings with him an enthusiasm to teach and continue to mentor youth and adults in the art of Taekwondo.

This program is designed with the Homeschooler in mind! Students ages 4-18 will have the opportunity to interact with other children their age in a fun, friendly, and active environment. During a semester, your child will focus on different motor skills while learning different sports and games. They will learn proper techniques and game rules that will help them in their development.

COVID Policies:
According to the WA State Department of Health, masks are required indoors for those that have not been fully vaccinated. Masks are not required “while engaged in indoor training or competition in any type of sport,” so they will not be required while playing. Students will need to bring their own water bottle – drinking fountains will be closed (filling stations will be open). We kindly ask everyone to please exit the building after class ends at 11:30am. The courts and lobby will be closed immediately to ensure proper cleaning happens before other events can come in.

Parents/guardians must stay outside the facility except for check-in/pickup or in an emergency situation. Everyone will need to wear a mask at all times when in the facility (even during physical activity). Students will need to bring their own water bottle – drinking fountains will be closed (filling stations will be open). We kindly ask everyone to please exit the building after class ends at 11:30am. The courts and lobby will be closed immediately to ensure proper cleaning happens before other events can come in.

Before arriving, we please ask that you self-screen using the following questionnaire. HUB staff will again ask these questions at check-in for documentation purposes.

In the past 14 days, have you or anyone in your household experienced any of the following symptoms? If so, we kindly ask you to please NOT enter the facility.

When in the facility, we ask that you agree to the following policies to help us stop the spread.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based sanitizer. We recommend bringing your own hand sanitizer.

  • Social distance by providing 6 feet of separation from others whenever possible.


Class Expectations

  1. Be Responsible; Come to class prepared to participate; wear appropriate clothing for activity following the PE appropriate dress guidelines.
  2. No food, gum, candy, or drinks on court (except water).
  3. Observe safety rules and listen to directions.

Appropriate Dress

  1. Students need to wear pants, shorts or skorts on their PE day. No skirts or dresses please.
  2. Students need to wear shoes that cover their toes and stay on their feet on their PE day. No sandals, flats, slip-ons, boots, high heels or flip flops.

The HUB Sports Center and N2X team will be delivering 2-day STEM camps for students K-6 who are interested in a hands on STEM experience that enhances their learning process. Our trained staff will be interacting with students by delivering Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned curriculum that brings project-based STEM learning and context-centered education based on student inquiry to life.

Camp 1 (12/7 &12/9) – Merry Molecules
The season isn’t the only thing that is merry this month! Come join us as we learn about molecules that are literally in everything around us, including you! What happens when they get “excited” and merry? What do they look like on the inside and how do they “stick” together? Come celebrate this merry season with us by getting into the science of molecules!

Camp 2 (12/14 &12/16) – Fantastic Contraptions & Kitchen Chemistry
Learn simple ways to model engineering with your students. Using some classic activities, students will design, test and redesign their ideas, while learning that it’s okay to fail! Using basic household goods we will learn about how to make things change with chemistry. We will learn about properties of matter, pH and how chemistry is all around us!

 

Must be pre-registered.

Cost: $40/student per camp. Dates are non-transferable.

Pickleball 101 Clinics

Come and learn the game of Pickleball! Our expert instructors will teach you the basic skills and rules of this exciting game!

Clinics take place on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. All days run 10:00am-12:00pm.

Our primary objective in teaching the clinic is provide an enjoyable experience such that players want to come back to play. When done with the clinic players will be able to have a fun experience with players of a similar level.

Following is a description of what we teach in the beginning clinic:

  • How to setup a pickleball net.
  • How to join an existing game.
  • The different lines/areas of the pickleball court.
  • A short description of the Non-Volley Zone (the kitchen).
  • How to determine if a ball is In or Out of an area of the court.
  • Basic rules of the game including the two-bounce rule.
  • Practice hitting a forehand, backhand, and serve.
  • Proper court etiquette.
    • Line calls
    • Foot faults
    • Non-volley Zone calls
    • Interruptions of play (ball or person on the court)
    • Calling the score prior to serving
  • Players play a modified game evolving into a standard game (special serving rules until they can serve well enough to play a game) during the clinic.

When players finish the 2 hour clinic they will meet the USAPA 2.5 Skill Rating definition:

This player has a minimal understand of rules of the game and limited experience.

Can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability.

Basic ability to keep score.

 

Registration is just $10/person. .MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED TO ATTEND.

All participants will have the option to stay for our drop-in play from 12:30-2:30pm each day for free.

Personalized small group strength classes taught by doctor of physical therapy Paula Stiles DPT, OCS, Pn1.  Come improve your overall strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility in a safe supervised environment.  Your goals determine the workouts!  We will utilize weights, balance boards, body weight exercises and more.  Bring a water bottle, towel, and a mat if you have one.

Classes are 60 minutes with a warm up, strength, balance and conditioning exercises 35-45 minutes.  Then cool down and flexibility work at the end.

Classes meet in the studio upstairs at the HUB Sports Center.

Tuesdays: 9:30-10:30am

I  have 17 years’ experience as an outpatient physical therapist with an Orthopedic Specialist Certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. I originally graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy but have since earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I enjoy working with anyone that has a goal. The goal may be to have less pain with daily activities, learn to have a healthy relationship with food or it may be to run a marathon, if you want to do it. I want to help! I have worked with all ages and performance levels including professional triathletes, professional baseball and football players, along with many college athletes.  Some of my most rewarding clients have been the beginning runner and the baby boomer who wants to keep active for their retirement.

Classes tuition: $45/month (once per week) or $80/month (twice per week)

Mr. Himebaugh has been instructing Taekwondo for 15 years. He has taught hundreds of students and lead more than 10 students to achieve the level of 1st Dan Black Belt and beyond.

STEM Camps

A fun hands-on STEM focused learning environment to spark student innovation!

The HUB Sports Center and N2X team will be delivering 2-day STEM camps for students K-6 who are interested in a hands on STEM experience that enhances their learning process. Our trained staff will be interacting with students by delivering Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned curriculum that brings project-based STEM learning and context-centered education based on student inquiry to life.

Camp 1 (12/7 &12/9) – Merry Molecules
The season isn’t the only thing that is merry this month! Come join us as we learn about molecules that are literally in everything around us, including you! What happens when they get “excited” and merry? What do they look like on the inside and how do they “stick” together? Come celebrate this merry season with us by getting into the science of molecules!

Camp 2 (12/14 &12/16) – Fantastic Contraptions & Kitchen Chemistry
Learn simple ways to model engineering with your students. Using some classic activities, students will design, test and redesign their ideas, while learning that it’s okay to fail! Using basic household goods we will learn about how to make things change with chemistry. We will learn about properties of matter, pH and how chemistry is all around us!

 

Must be pre-registered.

Cost: $40/student per camp. Dates are non-transferable.

This program is designed with the Homeschooler in mind! Students ages 4-18 will have the opportunity to interact with other children their age in a fun, friendly, and active environment. During a semester, your child will focus on different motor skills while learning different sports and games. They will learn proper techniques and game rules that will help them in their development.

COVID Policies:
According to the WA State Department of Health, masks are required indoors for those that have not been fully vaccinated. Masks are not required “while engaged in indoor training or competition in any type of sport,” so they will not be required while playing. Students will need to bring their own water bottle – drinking fountains will be closed (filling stations will be open). We kindly ask everyone to please exit the building after class ends at 11:30am. The courts and lobby will be closed immediately to ensure proper cleaning happens before other events can come in.

Parents/guardians must stay outside the facility except for check-in/pickup or in an emergency situation. Everyone will need to wear a mask at all times when in the facility (even during physical activity). Students will need to bring their own water bottle – drinking fountains will be closed (filling stations will be open). We kindly ask everyone to please exit the building after class ends at 11:30am. Before arriving, we please ask that you self-screen using the following questionnaire. HUB staff will again ask these questions at check-in for documentation purposes.

When in the facility, we ask that you agree to the following policies to help us stop the spread.

  • Social distance by providing 6 feet of separation from others whenever possible.


Class Expectations

  1. Be Responsible; Come to class prepared to participate; wear appropriate clothing for activity following the PE appropriate dress guidelines.
  2. No food, gum, candy, or drinks on court (except water).
  3. Observe safety rules and listen to directions.

Appropriate Dress

  1. Students need to wear pants, shorts or skorts on their PE day. No skirts or dresses please.
  2. Students need to wear shoes that cover their toes and stay on their feet on their PE day. No sandals, flats, slip-ons, boots, high heels or flip flops.
